At nearly 90 years old, artist Chinyee is still tapping in to her creative side. Her exhibition, Dance of the Inner Being, on display at 456 Gallery, presents her inner thoughts through abstract art.
Shaping and reshaping her inner being is how she understands the abstract art.
Yesterday I made a quick sketch, a portrait of a woman, with Procreate on my Ipad.
And another one.
There are stars
whose light reaches the earth only after they themselves have disintegrated and are no more.
And there are people
whose scintillating memory lights the world after they have passed from it.
–which shine in the darkest night – are those which illumine for us the path.
There Are Stars Poem by Hannah Szenes
"Refusing to beg clemency from her captors, whom she did not consider legally permitted to try her case, Szenes penned short notes to her mother and her comrades and went to her death at age twenty-three in a snow-covered Budapest courtyard, refusing a blindfold in order to face her murderers in the moments before her death. Her body was buried by unknown persons in the Jewish graveyard at Budapest."
